Airy, spacious, well-equipped and situated in the centre of York, Space 109 is perfect for meetings, art and craft activities, one-to-ones, classes, music groups and socials.  And, as part of Space 109 is purpose-built as a 'white space', it's perfect for exhibitions.  Rates start at £12 for voluntary, community and charitable groups; £16 for all others.  Discounts available.  See below for details.

These are the rooms we have available:

• Space 109 Front Room: This is a large, bright room with tables, chairs and a sofa in the corner. Folding doors open into Space 107, so the two rooms can be combined. Suitable for groups of up to 30.
• Space 107 Front Room: This is a large, smart room with two sofas and a coffee table in the corner. Chairs are also available.Folding doors open into Space 109, so the two rooms can be combined, with another door to the kitchen. Suitable for groups of up to 30.
• Back Art Studio: The studio has tables and chairs organsied around a central pillar, easles, boards, a washable floor (suitable for paint spraying), two large sinks and drying space. Suitable for groups of up to 15.
• Media room: This is a connecting room equipped with four flat-screen PCs and a printer. Suitable for groups of up to 6.
• Kitchen: The kitchen is equipped with an oven, fridge, sink and kettle. There is a large dining table which seats 8. Please note that this is not a private room for hire and should be shared with other groups.

Space 109 has full diasbled access, with a ramp leading to 107 and 109 Walmgate. We have two toilets, one with disabled access and baby-changing facilities. A projector, screen and arts and crafts equipment can be made available on request.

Room hire rates start at £12 per hour for voluntary sector organisations, registered charities and community groups.  For statutory and commercial organisations, our rates start at £16. Discounts are available for local residents, combined hire of more than one room, and day hire.
